GPFCCU DONATED A MOTORBIKE TO PRISON

The Gambia Police Force Cooperative Credit Union (GPFCCU) recently presented a Motorbike to the Gambia Prison Service.

The presentation, done at the Police Headquarters in Banjul was presided by the Deputy Public Relation Officer Inspector Alieu Jamanka.

Chief Superintendent Jerreh Nyassi representing the Director General of the Prison was overwhelm by the donation and said it is timely and it will eased the welfare of the department day to day affairs. He underscored the importance of the Credit Union in the lives of members, including himself.

Deputy Inspector General of Police noted with pride that the cooperation between the GPFCCU and the GPS will continue to grow from strength to strength, citing the fact that the Police Credit Union is now the 2nd biggest union in the Gambia.

According to Pa Singhateh, General Manager of GPFCCU said the bikes cost over D300,000 and was just a way of giving back to their parent institutions. “We are delighted to hand over this token to the various security agencies under the preview of the Interior Ministry, this to fulfil our responsibility in ploughing back to our members. I’m proud to say that if it wasn’t for these institutions, there would have not been the GPFCCU. We hope that the support will go a long way towards the ease of transportation in the various units".
