Gambia Prison Service Officers Participate in Capacity-Building Training

On Wednesday, the 06th of November, 2024. senior and junior officers from the Gambia Prison Service (GPS) benefited from a comprehensive capacity-building training organized by the Global Organization for Health and Safety (GOHS). The training was designed to equip officers with essential skills in hazard detection, particularly focusing on the identification and reporting of accidents within prison facilities.

During the sessions, facilitators demonstrated various types of hazard indicators and emphasized effective methods for addressing and mitigating these risks. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, officers gained insights into advanced problem-solving techniques aimed at enhancing workplace safety and security.

This capacity-building initiative is expected to significantly impact the officers' daily operations by enabling them to implement best practices in risk management and problem-solving, ultimately contributing to a safer and more efficient working environment within the prison system.
